Ivrea deserves to be listed by Unesco Heritage because of the innovative architecture of the industrial part of the city, and Adriano Olivetti’s inspirational way of thinking. In 2012 the municipal administration proposed “Ivrea Industrial City of the XX century” for the World Heritage List. A first step along the path to acknowledging the 54th world heritage site.

This was a very successful project: on the 1 July 2018 in Manama (Baharain’s capital) the UNESCO World Heritage Committee officially added “Ivrea Industrial City of the XX century” to the World Heritage List.
